The Chief Architect is responsible for guiding the architecture and software development of PeraHealth intelligence solutions and provides subject matter expertise in the design, development and testing of PeraHealth products. This role works directly with the business analyst, project managers, account managers, and other stakeholders to understand the customer’s technical infrastructure and environment to ensure optimal development and operations of PeraHealth’s products. Leads a team of 4-6 software developers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for aligning the business’s strategic vision with its software technology
  • Be part of core team to build and promote the product roadmap
  • Oversee the software development process including software requirements, design, coding and verification testing
  • Lead the development and execution of a communication and education plan for the enterprise architecture
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to the software development team. Mentor the team to ensure continued development of their skills and abilities.
  • Establishe a team culture that demands a high degree of accountability, values innovation, fosters team collaboration and performance, and exhibits high commitment to team and product objectives with a focus on quality
  • Lead the team to deliver against agile plans and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and efficiencies
  • Drive resolution of technology roadblocks including code, infrastructure, build and deployment
  • Maintain a clear understanding of customer needs and how they align or conflict with business goals and technical constraints
  • Collaborate with Product Management leadership to help define technical requirements and design based on customer/business requirements
  • Proactively collaborate with colleagues in Product Management, Quality Assurance, Analytics and Marketing and to deliver on the product roadmap
  • Outline and execute product release plans ensuring timeliness of deliverables and regular communication of status to stakeholders
  • Keep current on industry standards and technologies and understand how/when/if to implement them into the product offerings
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality system and security requirements
  • Contribute to high-level strategic planning decisions with product, engineering, and executive teams

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering along with 6 years of experience leading multi-discipline technical teams ideally in a healthcare software environment
  • 5+ years of delivering data and analytics solutions
  • Seasoned knowledge of the software development life cycle including planning, requirements, bottomsup task estimation, architectural design, development, and verification testing
  • Must have experience with state-of-the-art software Agile development tools and processes, including experience utilizing Confluence and JIRA for documentation and issue management
  • Familiarity with HL7 standards and web services data interfaces
  • Excellent leadership capabilities including mentoring managers and developers and leading a team into innovative software technology approaches
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service orientation; anticipates and acts on what’s needed
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with a strong adherence to maintaining timelines and delivery expectations
  • High attention to detail and follow through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; attentive listener and ability to translate technical speak into business language
  • Reliable and dependable with self-initiative
  • Love of troubleshooting and puzzle solving
