UHS becomes most recent health system to join community of PeraTrend™ users
CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 17, 2014 – Nationally recognized as a leader in advanced treatment options using new technology and clinical research, San Antonio-based University Health System recently announced their partnership with PeraHealth. UHS plans to deploy PeraHealth’s PeraTrend throughout their 496-bed hospital.
Powered by the Rothman Index, PeraTrend extracts key information from the electronic health record and provides clinicians with a real-time understanding of patient condition. UHS leaders view PeraTrend as a key tool in supporting the system’s journey toward constantly improving the quality of care.
“We saw an opportunity to make our EHR data actionable,” said Dr. Alton Powell, UHS Chief Medical Information Officer. “As a public hospital, we believe that it is our responsibility to serve Bexar County and the community to the best of our ability. We are excited about what we can achieve with PeraHealth.”
“Our decision was very simple,” said Bill Phillips, UHS Chief Information Officer. “With PeraTrend, we are able to maximize the use of our existing electronic medical record and for pennies on the dollar, make that data actionable.”
“We are delighted to collaborate with a hospital as prestigious as University Health System,” said Stephanie Alexander, Chief Executive Officer of Charlotte-based PeraHealth. “The system’s dedication to providing exceptional care and outcomes for their patients and community is underscored by UHS’ Magnet status and many accolades. We are excited at how clinicians at UHS will surely find innovative ways to use the real time clinical decision support of PeraTrend and the Rothman Index.”
