The Rothman Index enables care providers and families to visualize patient acuity trends during the current hospital stay as well as from prior hospital stays. Understanding current and historical acuity trends aids care providers during the palliative care consult process.
As we looked at the Rothman Index, we found we were able to use it as a prognostication tool for palliative care.
